The Lady of the Northern Alps. The gateway to the classic route: Oritate – Tarodaira Mountain Hut – Mt. Yakushi. Popular with beginner to intermediate hikers.

Traverse starting point

Taroheigoya / Kumonodaira Area

Head to the Kurobe headwaters and Kumonodaira from Oritate. Also serves as a base for traverses to Japan's last great wilderness.

Nature walks

Lake Arimine / Arimine Prefectural Nature Park

Lake Arimine is renowned for its autumn foliage. The perfect base for hiking and nature walks.

Toyama Station (South Exit, Stop 2)

A short walk from JR Toyama Station and Toyama Chiho Railway's Dentetsu-Toyama Station. Buses depart from South Exit Stop 2.

Arimineguchi (Direct Bus Stop)

A bus stop near Arimineguchi Station along Prefectural Road 182 (not the station front). Drop-off stop for Bus No. 1 and No. 102.

Arimineguchi Station

Located just outside Arimineguchi Station. Bus No. 11 and No. 112 board and drop off here. Not the same stop as Arimineguchi on the direct bus.

Oritate (Trailhead)

Trailhead for Mt. Yakushi and Tarodaira. No rest stops at Oritate. No restroom onboard.
