JOZANKEI ONSEN AIRPORT LINER

December 19, 2026 – February 21, 2027 (Operates Daily)

Welcome to Jozankei Onsen

  • Located just about 30 km from central Sapporo, the heart of Hokkaido, Jozankei Onsen is one of the island's premier hot spring destinations. Established in 1866, this historic retreat features numerous ryokan lining a scenic ravine.

  • Most of the town's more than 30 ryokan and hotels feature open-air baths (rotenburo) alongside their indoor facilities. Relaxing in the soothing mineral water while watching the falling snow offers the quintessential onsen experience.

  • A major highlight of staying at a hot spring inn is the cuisine. Choices range from luxury ryokan serving authentic multi-course kaiseki meals to accommodations offering lavish buffet spreads.

  • Saunas are currently enjoying a huge boom across Japan, and several properties in Jozankei boast state-of-the-art facilities. In winter, resting in the crisp, cool mountain air after a steam takes the sauna experience to another level.

  • As you stroll around the hot spring town, you will find free footbaths scattered along the streets. Even amid the winter snow, dipping your feet into the hot water warms your entire body in no time.

  • While in Jozankei, why not try the baths at other hotels as well? Many ryokan welcome day-use visitors for a modest fee, making it easy to enjoy hot spring hopping without booking another overnight stay.

  • Located just a 20-minute drive from Jozankei, Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort is a full-scale resort catering to everyone from beginners to advanced riders. By using Jozankei as your base, you can seamlessly combine world-class skiing with a cozy, rejuvenating ryokan retreat.
